Karl Griffin is the Chief Executive Officer at Genesis. Karl leads the commercial, technical and pricing teams and has global responsibility for Genesis’ customer relationships, aircraft management and investment strategy. Karl has 29 years’ experience in the airline, leasing and aircraft maintenance industries.
Prior to joining Genesis in 2018, Karl was the Chief Operating Officer and a board member at AWAS. Karl spent 11 years in leadership roles building out the capabilities and growing AWAS into a world class top 5 aircraft lessor that was acquired by DAE in 2017. Karl started his aviation career in 1990 with GPA Joint Venture, Shannon Aerospace and was a founding member of Virgin Express (Ire). Karl started his aircraft leasing career with RBS Aviation Capital where he held various technical and pricing roles and created and led RBS Aviation Capitals engine finance and leasing business.
Karl received a First Class Honours MBA from the University of Limerick, a Dip. Mechanical Engineering from Galway Institute of Technology and holds an EASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence.
Cian is the Chief Financial & Operating Officer at Genesis. Cian was one of the founding members of Genesis in 2014 and lead the growth of Genesis to its current state. Cian leads the finance, risk and legal teams of Genesis and has global responsibility for the company’s financial planning and operational functions. Cian has over 18 years’ experience in finance and operating roles over a number of industries but predominantly in the aircraft leasing industry.
Prior to joining Genesis, Cian was Head of Finance & Accounting at Volito Aviation where he was responsible for overseeing the financial controls for the VGS Group (a joint venture between Volito and Goldman Sachs) and sourcing aircraft financing. Prior to that, Cian was in the Senior Manager Group Finance at AerCap, a Financial Accounting Manager at a fortune 500 medical device company Stryker and trained as an Auditor with RBK.
Cian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds an honours degree in Business Studies from IT Waterford.
Anna Reimers is the Chief Legal Officer at Genesis. Anna leads the legal and contracts management team for all of Genesis portfolio aircraft. Anna has been Genesis legal counsel since 2014, before joining the Company in 2017.
Prior to joining Genesis Anna worked in practice with McGuireWoods. Anna has over 18 years’ experience in the legal aviation business with a focus on acquisition, disposition, leasing and management of aircraft portfolios.
Anna holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina and received her JD. from the University of Denver College of Law.
Mary O’Brien is Senior Contracts Manager at Genesis. Mary manages each of the Genesis aircraft lease contracts and our lease management system. Mary joined Genesis in 2017.
Prior to joining Genesis, Mary held various legal and contract roles within the aircraft leasing industry with ILFC, AerCap and Lobo Leasing.
Mary holds a B.A. Business from the University of Limerick, Train the Trainer FETAC Level 6 in NUI and completed a Diploma in Legal Studies and Practice in Griffith College Dublin.
Pat Madigan is Senior Vice President Commercial at Genesis. Pat is responsible for Genesis’ European and Asia Pacific customers and markets. Pat’s role includes the origination of aircraft for acquisition, portfolio remarketing and aircraft divestments. Pat joined Genesis in 2018.
Pat has over 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry with a backgrounds in airline, MRO and engine leasing.
Pat received a First Class Honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick and is an EASA approved Maintenance Engineer.
Peter O’Byrne is Vice President Commercial at Genesis. Peter is responsible for Genesis’ European and Americas customers and markets. Peter’s role includes the origination of aircraft for acquisitions, portfolio remarketing and aircraft divestments. Peter joined Genesis in 2018.
Peter has over 10 years’ experience in aircraft leasing. Prior to joining Genesis, Peter held various technical and trading roles at CIT Aerospace, AWAS and Sky leasing.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Limerick and a Masters in Investment, Treasury and Banking from Dublin City University.
Aidan Cleary is the Head of Technical and Asset Management at Genesis. Aidan leads the technical team and is responsible for mitigating technical risk across our fleet, managing the portfolio aircraft return and the delivery process with our customers. Aidan has over 20 years’ experience in the airline and aircraft leasing industry.
Prior to joining Genesis in 2018, Aidan worked at AWAS and later in DAE in technical leadership roles. Aidan started his career at Ryanair as a Line Maintenance Engineer. Aidan was a founding member and later Chief Operating Officer and Aircraft Asset Manager Santos Dumont.
Aidan holds an EASA B1 and B2 Aircraft Engineers Licence.
David Curran is the Vice President Power Plant at Genesis and manages all of the power plant activities across the Genesis fleet. David has over 13 years’ experience across the airline, engine maintenance and aircraft leasing industries. David joined Genesis in 2018.
David holds a First Class Honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Limerick.
Robert Murphy is a Technical Asset Manager at Genesis and is responsible for managing aircraft transitions and deliveries in support of our airline customers. Robert joined Genesis in 2018.
Robert previously worked at Aer Lingus where he held roles in maintenance and as a technical representative for the airline. Robert holds an EASA B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
Susan Cotter is the Vice President Risk Management at Genesis. Susan leads the Risk management function and is responsible for the development and evolution of Genesis risk management systems including airline credit analysis. Susan joined Genesis in 2018.
Prior to joining Genesis, Susan held the role of Senior Risk Manager at Apollo Aviation Group, now Carlyle Aviation Partners.
Susan holds a Masters of Science in Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from University College Cork.
Adam Smyth is the Head of Portfolio Investments at Genesis. He is responsible for the development of the long term investment strategy of the business and building the tools required to accurately underwrite or value the business and specific transactions. Adam is also responsible for the design and management of the investment governance across Genesis and accurately reporting on Genesis’ investments.
Adam is a founding member of Genesis joining the business in 2014 and has over 12 years’ experience in the finance industry with a background in audit, banking and aircraft leasing. Prior to joining Genesis Adam was an auditor at Ernst and Young.
Adam holds a degree in Economics and Financial Mathematics from University College Dublin and is a Chartered Accountant. Adam has also completed the CFA exams and received a Diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance from the Law Society of Ireland.
John Kelly is a Senior FP&A Manager at Genesis. John is responsible for company valuations, financial forecasting and cash reporting.
Prior to joining Genesis John worked in Miagen, building forecasting platforms for several aircraft lessors, and as a Finance Consultant with Deloitte.
John is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northeastern University Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Dublin City University.
Jonathan Struthers is a Pricing Manager at Genesis. Jonathan is responsible for transaction analysis and the pricing model development and governance. Jonathan joined Genesis in 2018.
Jonathan has 7 years' aircraft leasing experience across various transaction analysis and technical roles at AWAS & DAE.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Limerick.
Bridget Corry is part of the Pricing team at Genesis. Bridget is responsible for supporting pricing activities at Genesis. Prior to this, Bridget worked as part of the Commercial team where she supported the remarketing and trading activities at Genesis. Bridget joined Genesis in 2018.
Bridget holds an Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Queen’s University of Belfast and a Bachelor of Aircraft Systems from the Institute of Technology Carlow.
Clara Dalton is Executive Personal Assistant at Genesis since joining the business in 2018.
Prior to joining Genesis Clara worked in senior account management and administrative roles across multiple sectors.
Clara has a Marketing, Sales, Advertising and PR Diploma from Dublin Business School, a Digital Marketing Diploma from Shaw Academy and has a background in Performing Arts.
Roisin Daly is an Accounting Manager at Genesis. Roisin is responsible for managing portfolio aircraft accounts and financial reporting. Roisin joined Genesis in 2014.
Prior to joining Genesis, Roisin was an assistant account manager at Volito Aviation and an Audit Senior at Ernst and Young.
Roisin is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Dublin Institute of Technology.
Peter Edwards is an Accounting Manager at Genesis. Peter manages the preparation, review and presentation of financial results for the Genesis aircraft portfolios. Peter joined Genesis in 2015.
Prior to joining Genesis, Peter was an assistant manager at Ernst and Young.
Peter holds a Master of Accountancy from University College Dublin and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Steve Russell is an Accounting Manager at Genesis. Steve manages the preparation, review and presentation of financial results for the Genesis aircraft portfolio companies. Steve joined Genesis in 2018.
Prior to joining Genesis Steve worked in the financial and risk sectors with Elavon Partners, Bank of Ireland and RBC Capital Markets.
Steve is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor Of Science in Engineering and Management from Trinity College Dublin. Steve also holds the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification.
Rosemary Palmer is an Accounts Assistant at Genesis. Rosemary manages the invoicing and receivables of fleet utilization and rental invoices for each of our customers across the Genesis portfolio companies. Rosemary joined Genesis in 2014.
Prior to joining Genesis, Rosemary previously worked in an accountancy practice for over six years and worked at Volito Aviation Services.
Rosemary studied as a nurse and gained her nursing qualification from Thames Valley University, London and is now studying towards her final professional accountancy exams.
Caroline McCarthy is an Accounts Assistant at Genesis. Caroline manages the invoicing and receivables of fleet utilization and rental invoices for each of our customers across the Genesis portfolio companies. Caroline joined Genesis in 2015.
Prior to joining Genesis, Caroline worked in PGI a software communications company.
Caroline holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Cork Institute of Technology and is currently completing ACCA professional qualification.
Elaine Lewis is an Accounts Assistant at Genesis. Elaine manages the invoicing and receivables of fleet utilization and rental invoices for each of our customers across the Genesis portfolio companies. Elaine joined Genesis in 2018.
Prior to joining Genesis, Elaine held various roles in the pharmaceutical industry.
Elaine holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Technology Tallaght. Elaine is currently working towards her ACCA professional qualification.
David Hannon is an Accounts Assistant at Genesis. David manages the invoicing and receivables of fleet utilization and rental invoices for each of our customers across the Genesis portfolio companies. David joined Genesis in 2019.
Prior to joining Genesis, David worked in an accounts practice for 12 months after transitioning from managerial roles in both chemical distribution and production companies.
David is currently working towards his ACCA professional qualification as well as a Business and Finance Degree from Brookes University.
