The Next Ten landscape
Aviation will remain a key force in transforming our world, driving sustained demand and continued growth in air travel
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts a 3.8% annual growth in global passenger demand. With ongoing innovations in sustainability and technology, we believe aviation is well-positioned to thrive in the decade ahead.

60% of the global population has yet to experience air travel
Over the decade to come, emerging markets will be the engine of global growth, powered by rising populations and expanding middle class. Two-thirds of the global aviation expansion is expected to occur in the Asia Pacific region, with Indian air traffic projected to grow at a 9.3% compounded annual growth rate.
60% of the world’s population are yet to set foot inside an aircraft.
Supply side challenges to persist until end of the decade
Today’s supply-demand imbalance is expected to persist through the early 2030s, shaping the aviation landscape over the next decade. Signs of a return to equilibrium may start to appear around 2029.
Lost production since 2019 now exceeds 5,000 aircraft – equivalent to at least 3 years of deliveries – due to the pandemic shutdown, a slow subsequent production ramp-up and difficulties resolving supply chain issues.
